Should You Hire a Graphic Designer, or Not?

On our website, we offer customers several ways to design their marketing visuals. Whether you already have a print-ready file, want to put together a simple design, or need advanced graphic design work, we have a solution to suit every need. Our layout tool, an online designer, lets you create or upload your visuals directly and place your order. But if you’re short on inspiration, or would rather leave it to a professional designer, our graphic design service is here to help.

Designing Your Own Visual: Pros and Cons

Saving money. Economy - finance.

Pros:

  • Save time and money: Using our online tool to design your own visual, or upload a file that’s already ready, is the most cost-effective option. The free plan is designed specifically for those who already have their print-ready file.
  • Full control over the design: You keep complete control over how your visual looks. If you have a clear idea in mind, you can bring it to life yourself, with no middleman.

Cons:

  • Technical skills required: If you’re not familiar with design software, creating a professional visual can be tricky and time-consuming. Without a good grasp of the tools, the final result might not live up to your expectations.
  • Limited quality and creativity: While our online tool is user-friendly, it can’t replace the expertise of a professional designer capable of creating quality, custom-made designs.

Hiring a Professional Graphic Designer: Pros and Cons

Preparing your files

Pros:

  • Expertise and creativity: Manon, our designer with over 7 years’ experience, quickly identifies your needs and vision to create a visual that’s perfectly suited to your image. Her creative eye and technical expertise guarantee a professional, custom-made, high-impact result.
  • Save time: You don’t have to worry about creating or editing files yourself. By handing this over to a professional, you get a fast service, with a reply within 24 business hours of placing your order.
  • Personal advice: Manon supports you throughout the process and suggests solutions tailored to your needs. She advises you on aesthetic choices, formats, colours and design optimisation to get the best possible visual impact.
Paying with cash

Cons:

  • Extra cost: Compared with doing it yourself, hiring a designer comes at a cost. However, this investment guarantees a high-quality design and a result that perfectly reflects your brand image.

The Graphic Design Process at À L’ÉPREUVE

Here’s how the graphic design process works within our company:

Place your order online or sign a quote

You choose the plan that suits you, or approve a quote for a custom project. Once your order is placed, Manon, our designer, will contact you within 24 business hours to discuss your project.

Discussion with the designer

During this conversation, Manon identifies your needs, wishes and expectations. She takes into account everything you’ve provided (photos, logos, text) and discusses formats, colours and design style.

A first mock-up is proposed

Once the main lines of your project are defined, a first mock-up is put together in the following days. This mock-up is sent to you for approval.

Revisions and approval

If you’d like to adjust anything, Manon makes the necessary changes. Once you’re happy with the result, you sign a final proof for approval ("Bon à Tirer" / BAT) or give written sign-off to approve the visual before it goes into production.

Production

Once the proof is approved, the visual goes into production. You then receive your products within the agreed timeframe.
