Trade show displays: roll-up, kakemono or stand? The guide

A trade show, a fair, an event: it only takes a visitor a few seconds to decide whether to stop at your stand or not. Point-of-sale display materials play a key role here. Here's an overview of the most effective options.

Which banner should you choose for a trade show stand?

Start with the location and how you will transport your equipment. A roll-up stands on the floor and stores the graphic in its base; a suspended banner needs an approved hanging point. Check the product's structure, dimensions and accessories rather than relying on the name alone.

Frame and graphic: what is included?

Check whether the offer includes the frame, printed graphic, base and carrying bag. A graphic alone is not a complete display. To reuse an existing frame, send its reference and dimensions so compatibility can be checked.

Compare our roll-ups, backdrop walls and teardrop flags. For outdoor use, choose a model designed for that purpose: adding ballast does not make an indoor display suitable for wind.

Preparing your artwork and quote request

Keep one clear main message, place the logo high up and put detailed information on handouts. Use the template for the selected product: areas hidden by a base, seam or fitting vary.

The roll-up banner

A retractable banner in a weighted base, set up in seconds. The Swiss Army knife of events: lightweight, portable, reusable, ideal behind a counter or at the entrance to a stand. The best value for impact.

The kakemono banner

A vertical banner hung from the ceiling, a gantry or a frame. Ideal for being seen from a distance and above the crowd. Often larger than a roll-up.

The feather flag

A printed sail on a pole, shaped like a teardrop or a feather. Perfect outdoors (site entrance, car park, event): it moves, catches the eye and can be seen from far away.

The pop-up stand / backdrop wall

A folding structure forming a large panoramic visual at the back of a stand. For a real “wow” effect and an immersive brand image, while still going up in minutes.

How to choose?

Wall frame, freestanding frame or backdrop wall?

Choose by location: mounted on a wall, standing on the floor or used behind your stand. For a “2 m frame”, specify whether you mean width or height. Compare frame dimensions with graphic dimensions too: they are not interchangeable.

Replacing only the graphic

If you already own a frame, note its reference, shape, dimensions and fabric fitting system. A replacement graphic must suit that specific frame. Check the product page and configurator for whether the order includes a frame, a graphic or both; a format name alone does not guarantee compatibility.
