Which fabric for your black roll-up banner?
Two materials are offered. The standard fabric renders deep flat colours and rewinds without creasing, which matters when the design is mostly dark. The grey-backed polyester adds an opaque layer on the reverse: worth choosing when the banner stands in front of glass or is lit from the front, because a black background shows through very quickly. It is also the material to ask for in venues subject to a fire rating.
The available size
85 x 200 cm is the reference format for a roll-up. Two metres of height bring the headline to eye level, and 85 cm of width fits a corridor, the corner of a stand or a shop entrance. That height also keeps the upper part of the design above the heads of the people standing around it, which counts in a busy room. It is the easiest size to carry from one event to the next.
Hardware and printing
Order hardware plus print for a first deployment, or print only to redress a cassette you already own; that avoids replacing a mechanism still in good order. Our roll-up range covers the other situations, from outdoor use to oversized formats.
Preparing your file
Supply 300 DPI artwork in CMYK, with 2 mm bleed and a 4 mm safety margin. On a black background, a black built from several inks reads far less flat at this scale than a single-ink black. Thin white type over black benefits from a slightly heavier weight, and dark gradients deserve a careful check.
