Which material for your PVC cards?
There is no paper to pick here: the PVC card is printed on a rigid plastic substrate, and that is the reason to choose it. It does not curl at the bottom of a pocket, does not absorb water on a counter, and does not tear when it is pulled out twenty times a month. Its smooth surface keeps colours stable and barcodes crisp. For a card handed to a loyal customer or a member, that lifespan changes everything: it stays presentable for as long as the relationship lasts.
The available size
One size only, 86 x 54 mm, the dimensions of a bank card. That makes it obvious to store: it takes a card slot in a wallet, fits a badge holder and needs no thought to handle. A standard size also means you never rework your layout between runs, because the card keeps the same dimensions every time.
Writing panel and uses
Two versions are available. The standard finish leaves the card fully printed, for a membership card or a badge whose details never change. The writable panel reserves a band to fill in by hand: the holder's name, an expiry date, or the boxes of a loyalty card ticked at each visit. That is the version for shops, trade shows and associations that add information at the moment the card is handed over.
Preparing your file
Send a PDF at 300 DPI in CMYK, with 2 mm bleed all round and a 4 mm safety margin, and convert your type to outlines. PVC cards have rounded corners, so keep important elements away from them. If you plan a writing panel, reserve it in the layout and keep it clear of any solid.
