Which paper for your carbonless copy book?
Carbonless paper transfers pen pressure from one sheet to the next, with no loose carbon to slide in. The 60 gsm is the softer of the two: easy to write on, easy to fold, and lighter in a thick book. The 80 gsm holds its shape better and copes with a jacket pocket, a tool bag or a dashboard. On a triplicate set, write with a firm hand either way, since the pressure has to reach three sheets.
Available sizes
A4, 210 x 297 mm, leaves room for a detailed table: descriptions, quantities, references, payment terms. It is the format for order forms and repair sheets. A5, 148 x 210 mm, fits a counter or a shoulder bag and can be filled in standing up: receipts, delivery notes, call records. Both are configured in our carbonless book section, within the stationery range.
Binding, copy colours and numbering
Carbonless copy books are bound with two flat metal staples, at the side or at the head, with a black cloth spine that protects the staples over time. Head binding suits a book used flat, side binding a book leafed through like a notebook. Then choose the set: 2 sheets for a duplicate, 3 for a triplicate. Copy colours come in blue, pink, green and yellow, or paired as blue and pink, blue and green, pink and yellow, green and yellow, so each recipient gets their own colour. Numbering is optional and prints a number on every set.
Preparing your file
Work at 300 DPI in CMYK, with 2 mm bleed and a 4 mm safety margin. Leave writing lines tall enough and avoid dark solids where people write, since ballpoint ink will not show on a dense background.
