Which paper for your flyers?
Weight follows distribution. For a hand-out printed in volume, 90 gsm offset and 115 gsm recycled stay light and take pen ink. The usual compromise is 135 gsm coated, gloss or silk: strong colour, and the sheet does not collapse in the hand. From 170 gsm silk upwards the flyer survives letterboxes and counter displays. At 250 and 350 gsm, gloss or silk, you get a card people keep. Finally, 283 gsm Raw kraft, 300 gsm recycled, 250 gsm Rives and Gmund 320 gsm hemp and 300 gsm wheat bring real texture, with quieter colours.
Sizes available
A5 is the classic attention-getter, readable across a table. A6 hands out quickly and fits a pocket. DL, tall and narrow, sits in a counter holder or slips into an envelope. A4 and A3 work as a full programme or a shop window bill. The 100x100, 148x148 and 210x210 mm squares read as more designed, as do the 200x150 mm landscape and the 100x300 mm vertical strip. Round cuts of 60, 80, 100 and 140 mm draw the eye on a stand or as a table mat.
Finishes and double-sided printing
Printing both sides doubles the usable space: the hook on the front, the detail and legal lines on the back. Gloss lamination revives solid areas, matt calms reflections under shop lighting, soft touch adds a velvet feel and can be combined, on both faces, with a 3D varnish that raises a logo.
Preparing your file
Export at 300 DPI in CMYK, with 2 mm bleed and a 4 mm safety margin. On circular formats, keep text further still from the edge: a round trim is less forgiving. Keep QR codes dark on a light background so they scan.
