Which kraft paper for your custom tape?
Natural kraft keeps the warm tone of the raw fibre. Dark inks stand out on it: black, brown 476, green 376 or reflex blue all read cleanly. Pale tones tend to blend into the background, which is where white ink earns its place.
White kraft gives you a neutral base. Bright colours are reproduced more faithfully, a two-colour logo stays legible, and the parcel looks more graphic overall. Choose it when your identity relies on one precise colour.
The print area
The print area measures 270 x 40 mm and repeats along the roll. Build a pattern that loops, so the end of one repeat meets the start of the next without a visible break. A single well-centred logo works as well as a continuous frieze, provided you leave room around it.
Print colours
Printing is done in spot colours, from one to three. The palette covers black, reflex blue, brown 476, gold 871, grey 428, green 376, 200, orange 021, red 186, rhodamine red, yellow, silver 877 and white. Spot colours give even, solid areas, but they reproduce neither gradients nor photographs. Line art, a vector logo or strong lettering get the most from the process. A second or third colour is best used to separate a symbol from a wordmark rather than to add detail.
Preparing your file
Supply vector artwork with each colour named by its Pantone reference. For any raster element, work at 300 DPI in CMYK, with 2 mm bleed and a 4 mm safety margin, and outline your fonts before sending.
