Which paper for your napkin rings?
Both papers are 250 gsm, and the weight is deliberate. Any lighter and the band creases as soon as it is slipped around a napkin, then cockles at the first drop of water. At 250 gsm it keeps its shape on the table throughout service.
The 250 gsm silk coated stock reflects little light. Fine typography stays readable under low dining lights, and a solid colour looks calmer. It suits restrained table settings and bands that carry a printed menu.
The 250 gsm gloss coated stock saturates colour further. A photograph, a floral pattern or a deep background gains in impact. It works for receptions and festive tables where the napkin ring plays a decorative part.
The available size
5 x 20 cm is the practical measure: twenty centimetres of length wrap a folded cloth napkin or a standard paper one, and five centimetres of height leave room for a logo and a line of text without crowding the place setting.
Finishing and printing
Printing is single-sided, on the face that shows once the band is closed, with a standard finish. Think about the join: the pattern should still make sense where the two ends meet. The same care applies across the table items in our hotels and restaurants range.
Preparing your file
Artwork at 300 DPI in CMYK, with 2 mm bleed and a 4 mm safety margin. On a narrow band the safety margin counts double: keep text away from the edges and avoid rules running along the trim.
